Replace battery on Apple Watch Series 6 or upgrade to Series 10

I’m wondering if I should buy a new Apple Watch (series 10) or just replace the battery for $99 for my Apple Watch 6 series. Diagnostics ran by Geek squad at Best Buy AND Apple’s Genius Bar. Both determined that everything on the watch passed/no problems except for the battery needing replacing. A brand new watch will cost so much more money so thought maybe just replacing the battery till the watch fails in the other areas? Looking for others recommendations to help me make my final decision. Thank you.

If your Apple Watch is otherwise meeting your needs, I'd probably recommend just having the battery serviced. I have a Series 6 Apple Watch and so far have seen no reason to replace it. But it's totally up to you. Look at the features in the Series 10, the current Watch SE, and see what Apple is offering in their refurbished device list. Then decide from there. Just be aware that at the end of next year (2026) the Series 6 will go on Apple's "vintage" list which will mean that service may no longer be available. That may factor into your decision.

Less, thank you. I just went to the Apple Store and I was told the same thing- that like in a year or so, the series 6 will be a vintage. Plus , I was told I’d get $75 trade in and a replacement for the battery would be $99. His recommendation was buy a new watch. I bit the bullet and bought a series 10 Apple Watch this evening. It will be delivered tomorrow. Thank you for your feedback.
